How we built
the comparison.
We modeled the complete cost of attending a major concert across 25 US cities, using the same standard fan scenario in every location.
City selection and standard trip
The city seed list represents major metropolitan concert markets and established arena or stadium destinations across the US. Each ranking total includes one major-tour ticket with fees, one mid-range hotel night, food and drinks, local transport, a 200-mile return drive, and one concert T-shirt.
Artist merchandise seed list
The 15-artist seed list draws on high-profile tours from 2025, the latest complete calendar year of touring coverage. Artists were retained where comparable merchandise categories could be modeled. The basket includes one T-shirt, one hoodie, and one additional collectible.
Sources and assumptions
Public ticket-price reporting from Pollstar and CNBC Select, the IRS standard mileage rate, and selected official artist stores were checked to keep assumptions within plausible ranges. City and merchandise figures are rounded and modeled for this independent demonstration. They are not live prices or observed fan spending.
